Bobby is a 9 year old, Caucasian male that lives in Springvale, ME with his mother and older sister in a rough part of town. He has been waiting for a Big Brother for 2 years. Bobby loves to joke around and be the center of attention. He is a fun child that is kind to others which is sometimes not reciprocated. He is often bullied by other kids in his neighborhood.
Bobby attends the 5th grade and is in special classes catered to help him concentrate on his work. He gets along with his teachers and peers, but does occasionally get into arguments with classmates because he is sensitive. He often tells his mom that he doesn’t have any friends and that no one likes him at school.
Bobby’s mom feels that a Big Brother would make him feel special because he would have someone to talk to. She says that having an older male friend will make him feel good about himself, and will help with his self-confidence. Bobby looks forward to having a Big Brother because he’ll have the opportunity to have fun with his mentor. He looks forward to watching baseball, cooking, doing arts and crafts, and painting with his Big. He would also enjoy going to the park, playing video games, dancing, and going snow-mobiling. He hopes that his Big Brother is a Red Sox and Patriots fan, and has a sense of humor.
