Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine (BBBSSM) remains deeply committed to serving children, families, and mentors across our community, and we want to share an important leadership update.
After 7½ years of dedicated service, Executive Director Nicole Avery will be stepping down to join the USM Maine Foundation as Senior Major Gifts Officer. We are grateful for Nicole’s leadership and for the lasting impact she has made on our organization and the young people we serve.
We are pleased to share that Eileen Veroneau Brown, our Director of Development and Communications, has been appointed Interim Executive Director. Eileen brings strong experience, deep knowledge of the organization, and a clear commitment to our mission, and she is well prepared to lead BBBS Southern Maine through this transition.
We are also grateful for the continued leadership of Miranda Hardy, who has been part of the organization for 14 years, including the past 8 as Program Director. Her experience and dedication help ensure that Bigs, Littles, and families receive the strong, consistent support they count on every day.
The Board of Directors will conduct a full search this spring and summer for our next Executive Director. During this transition, our programs and support for Bigs, Littles, and families will continue without interruption. We remain focused on helping young people build strong, enduring relationships that change lives for the better.
We thank Nicole for her years of leadership and service, and we wish her every success in this next chapter.
